For when visiting Kamino

February 9, 2009

I’m sure you’ve all wanted to be a fashionable jedi about town but its so hard with a big chunky lightsabre hanging from your belt.  Fret no more, my young self-conscious knights, because the weapon that is your life is now disguised as an umbrella.  Now you can keep your horns, ponytails or whatever dry while assuming the identity of a local civilised banker.

Unfortunately I don’t know anyone in Korea to get me one, but you are welcome to have a go at ordering here.

Key chain lightsabres

February 8, 2009

This time I’ve actually put my money where my mouth is and bought some of the tat I’m writing about.  I bought 7 of these beauties simply because they are so damn cheap and with free shipping I thought it was the deal of the year.

After living with these things dangling from my keys it has to be said they are not the most robust items ever (I’ve broken a few of them) and they may make your set of keys more cumbersome than you’d like.  On the upside, they make a handy little light for when its dark and you can’t find the lock in the dark.  And its a lightsabre.  That lights up.

Available from DealExtreme for less than $2 each.

Lightsabre light (well, torch really)

February 2, 2009

Lets face it, we’ve all played at being a Jedi and waved sonething around making swoosh & zwum noises.  Many of us even have toy lightsabres, with many levels of authenticity and quality available, they are probably the most common Star Wars toy around and don’t even qualify as tat as their purpose mirrors that in the film.

However, here is a replica lightsabre where the primary function isn’t for re-enacting Vader versus Obiwan, its to help light the path to your front door (or away from the dark side, your choice).

As a lightsabre it is somewhat lacking as the beam will not be as pronounced or solid as one usually desires, but as I torch I’m sure it is an improvement on a broom handle covered in fluorescent material

Available from, and probably other places too.
